I have never done ballet before, are these classes suitable for me?
Yes yes yes 1000X YES. Many people are under the misconception that ballet is something that cant be picked up later on in life and is only taught to children and young people. However, there is no expiry date when it comes to ballet. These classes are suitible for absolute beginners with no prior dance experience.
I have done ballet in the past & already know the basics, can I still attend these classes?
Of course! Even though our classes go at a slower pace its always good to make sure you're up to date with your terminology and work through the basics regularly to maintain strength and technique - even the professionals work on their basics on a daily basis to stay strong. However, adjustments can be made for those who want a greater challenge!
What to wear, what to wear😨?
We all worry about turning up somewhere and being either underdressed or overdressed (nightmare!) But lucky for you in these classes, you're free to wear whatever you feel comfortable exercising in. If leggings and a t-shirt are your jam then that's cool; or if you want to fully commit to the ballet-core aesthetic and wear a leotard and tights that's cool too! What age are the classes for?
Emily Rose Ballet adult classes are suitable for anyone aged 18 - 100.
Do I need to already be at a certain fitness level or be flexible for these classes?
No matter what fitness level or how flexible/non-flexible you are you are these classes are for you! During these classes we will look to improve overall strength, stamina flexibility etc adjusted to everyone's individual needs.
Do I need ballet shoes?
Although there isn't a specific uniform to wear to class, we do highly recommend that you invest in a pair of ballet shoes as they are a must! Not only to feel the part but to assist in your ballet training. However, if you do not own ballet shoes socks WITHOUT GRIPS are the next best thing!
